What we are: AMERICA-IN-PLAY (AIP) is a theatre collective that immerses artists in a neglected legacy of American plays and popular entertainment. Our work process initiates dialogue between contemporary writers and their predecessors to ground new writing in inspiration from a shared cultural past. America-In-Play is entering its fifth year. In previous years, AIP has experimented with form and content in evenings of short plays, and adaptations of old plays stuffed with new writing, including No Song, No Supper, A Second Glance, and Stealing Glances
This program is made possible, in part, through the sponsorship of The Field.
